3rd Nine Weeks Report Cards

Dear Allen Families,

You will be able to view your child's report cards on the Home Access Center (HAC) beginning Friday, April 17th at 4:00 PM. Grades on your child's report cards are reflective of graded work completed by your child before Spring Break. Distance Learning assignments are not calculated in your child's report card. Below you will find instructions on how to locate your child's report card in HAC. If for any reason you are not able to access your child's report card, please reach out to your child's classroom teacher.

As we enter the 5th week of Distance Learning, I encourage your child to join in on their teacher's live class meetings. This will be a great opportunity for your child to connect with the teacher and peers as well as get academic support from the teacher. Teachers have been working hard to create instructional videos that can be seen to assist with some of the learning objectives for the week. Please take some time to view these videos as they become available. I would like to take the opportunity to thank our teachers for their hard work to learn the new technology to bring these videos and class meetings to you. Also, thank you to our students and parents that have been so patient with us as we learn the new technology.

Finally, Friday, April 24th is originally the Battle of Flowers Holiday. As it had already been on our school calendar, it will remain a holiday. Students are not expected to log on and complete any class assignments on Friday. I hope that you enjoy your three day weekend!

As I am sure many of you have been inspired by countless inspirational videos recently, so have I. This video was shared with me and I wanted to also share with you all. It is a video of a school choir performing together virtually after their concert was canceled due to COVID-19. The choir is singing one of my all time favorite songs, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." I hope you enjoy.

REMEMBER: School may have been canceled but HOPE has not been canceled!

Love,

Mrs. Zagala
