United Way

DMS is currently raising money for United Way and what better way to get our students involved than a class competition! We will be collecting donations during C block lunch class this week. If you would like to donate, please send in cash, coins, or a check made out to United Way of Madison County. We will be collecting donations starting tomorrow until Thursday, 9/29. The top 3 classes will get an ice cream treat on Friday during lunch! Thank you for your support!

Volleyball

Our volleyball teams had a great week. Eighth grade players were recognized during the last home game against Sparkman. The Lady Panthers sealed their last home game win at Discovery. They continued the week with wins over Liberty and Whitesburg. Our 7th grade team picked up a win over Whitesburg on Thursday. Both teams played in the Decatur Middle School Tournament on Saturday. Each team advanced into the semi final matches of the tournament.

This week will wrap up our 2022 volleyball season with county tournaments at Buckhorn Middle School. The 7th grade will play Monrovia MS Tuesday (9/27) at 4:30. The 8th grade team will begin play Tuesday (9/27) against Liberty MS at 5:30. If the Lady Panthers earn a win in the first round of the tournament, they will continue to play toward the county championship.

Thank you for your support over this season.

Please be sure to purchase your ticket(s) prior to arrival. Please share this information with other students and fans!

Important Reminders

  • Please ensure that your students adhere to the dress code. All clothing must meet appropriate guidelines as noted in the DMS Student Handbook and MCS Code of Conduct. Also, students may bring a jacket or sweater if they are cold; however, blankets and stuffed animals are not allowed as a cover at school.
  • Attendance is very important. Please be sure to send absence notes to dmsattendance@madisoncity.k12.al.us whenever your student is absent from school.
  • Students should arrive to class on time and be in their seats when the tardy bell rings.
  • For morning drop off and afternoon dismissal, parking in the front northeast lot or in the loop at the front office will soon require a clearly marked parking pass. Those without this pass are asked to use the car line. Thanks to everyone for using the car line unless you have an "approved reason" from the DMS administration. Approved reasons are for SRO, medical/emergency, special needs, late arrival, etc. We are working for the safety of all of our students and staff at DMS. Thank you for your continued support!

Lost and Found

  • Please encourage your students to check the DMS Lost & Found near the front office if they have misplaced any items.
  • The Lost and Found will be cleared out on the first day of each month and unclaimed items will be donated to a worthy cause.
