PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Kia Ora e te Whānau,
Welcome to Week 5 of the term. It's hard to believe we are half way through term two already. Where is the year going?
Things have been a little quieter around school this week with our Year 6 and 7 students away on their Mt Cook camp for the week. They have been having some amazing adventures. If you haven't had a chance yet, check out some of the photos and videos they have put on our facebook page. We are all looking forward to having them back this afternoon.
Our school has 4 key values that we work to reinforce everyday. These are respect, responsibility, empathy and integrity. This term we have a spotlight on empathy. I have really enjoyed seeing this in action in the classrooms and the playground this term. Many of our students show empathy towards others around them though their kindness and compassion for each other. Everyday I see our students looking out for younger students, and making sure those around them are okay. This is just one of the many things that make our school a great place to be.
Enjoy the long weekend.
Ngā mihi nui,
Vicki Neave
Welcome to CJ who started school this week in Room 1!
Whānau and School Update
Last weekend we made approximately 23,000 cheese rolls! What a massive weekend it was!
Thank you to the parents, grandparents, teachers, additional staff within our school, students and past parents who came and helped out over Saturday and Sunday. We hope everyone is enjoying their cheese rolls.
From this fundraiser we have raised approximately $7,000 which is going towards our new playground surface. What a great effort!
Have a great long weekend :-)
Keep safe

Galleries will be sent out this evening to all families who have supplied an email address to BPS.
You may need to check your spam folders, in case the email goes there.
If you don't have an email by tomorrow, please email Charlotte at photos@jlp.nz. It may be that your email address has changed recently. Charlotte will update her list and then re-send your gallery.
If you have not supplied BPS with an email address, Charlotte will send your login info to BPS. We will then print this out and send it home with your child next week. If you don't have access to the internet to use your login, please contact the school office next week and we will help you to access your photos another way.
