PAC Notes
Below is the list of activities we are planning. Stay tuned for more details as the dates approach!
March 2nd, 2016 - Dr. Suess Day
- Normal morning
- Lunch provided by the school: green eggs, ham, and hashbrowns
- Afternoon Activities: Oobleck, community members invited to read with kids, etc
April 22nd, 2016 - Community Give Back Day
- This day is Earth Day
- We would like to take the kids around the town (Park, Libary, Post Office, Cafe, Store, etc) and clean up the community as a "Give Back Day" for all the help the community has given the school
- We would also like to plant some trees, typical Earth Day activity
April TBD, 2016 - John McConnell Math and Science Center Field Trip
- Day trip to Science Center and Botanic Gardens in Grand Junction
May TBD, 2016 - Rendezvous
- We will invite the 4th grade classes from RV elementary to join our 1st Annual Rendezvous in Maybell
- Rendezvous fits perfectly with 4th grade standards and the day will be used to investigate the importance of settlers in the westward expansion across the United States. Students will engage in real-world, hands-on activities throughout the day!
May TBD - Jarvie Ranch Field trip
- Students will enjoy a day in Brown's Day Park
- We will arrange a ranger guided tour.
- This historic property, built in 1880, provides a glimpse of turn-of-the-century frontier life in Brown's Park.
- As time allows, students will have the opportunity to explore other sites in Brown's park.
May 26th, 2016 - Last day of school community BBQ and Field Day
- Celebration of the school year inviting the entire community
- To include childhood games such as: sack races, tug-of-war, 3 legged races, water balloon tosses, red rover, crab walks, etc
- After games we will have a BBQ
