Little Rock Nine

What happened
Nine students registered to be the first African Americans to attend Central High School several years after the supreme court's decision. Six states still had segregated schools. Armed soldiers stood in the front of the school and blocked the nine black students from going to school. Eisenhower ordered the Arkansas governor to call off the national guard. So the police escorted the students into the school. The guards waited for them after school because whites can hurt them.

The people was there was Jefferson Thomas, Carlotta walls, Minnijean Brown, Elizabeth Eckford, Ernest Green, Thelma Mothershed, Melba Patillo, Gloria Ray, Terrence Roberts, Arkansas national guard.
Why did it happened
They had segregation laws, requiring African Americans and Caucasians children to attend separated schools. In 1954 the court decision was blacks can go to whites schools. The governor was trying to stop blacks from going to the schools.
When did it happened
The school doors open in 1927 but on September 4,1957 was when the nine students were trying to go to Central High School.

It happened in Little Rock, Arkansas At Central High School.
