Lord it is good for us to be here! Matthew 17:4
We are excited to meet with parents today. We do ask that while you are in our building, please social distance and wear a mask. Thank you for your cooperation so that we can offer this opportunity to work together with our families to educate our students.
Also, I will be in my office all day and evening. If you have any questions about anything or would like to speak with me in regards to a certain topic, or you have paperwork that needs to be turned in, please feel free to stop by! I am always here to listen to concerns or answer questions you may have. My office is on the 2nd floor in the Main School Building. I also have the Scrip cards if you would like to purchase any of our in stock cards.
You will find your child’s 1st quarter report card in today’s blue folder. If time allows you to do so, please take a look at it prior to your scheduled conference.
Next week we will be participating in Red Ribbon Week! Check out the different dress up days themes. Please note that since Father will be out of town on Thursday, we updated that day’s theme. See below for the update!
Camp Jag Days Our next Camp Jags day is Friday, October 22nd. The camp fee is $20 per day, per student from 7:00 A.M. till 3 P.M, or Camp Jag + Extended Care is $25 per day, per student from 7:00 A.M. till 6:00 P.M. in the Munier Center. Campers must bring lunch but snacks will be provided. If you are interested in having your child attend tomorrow, please let Mrs. Generous know ASAP.
SCRIPMANIA TOTAL: We are rocking Scrip! We had a big jump this week! Our new Scripmania Total for this week is $8,450…So now we will be giving away 3 FREE gift cards on December 7th! Keep up the good work!!! We are only $1,550 away from giving away a 4th FREE gift card! Make sure to share with family and friends so that they can join in on the fun too and it can count towards your tuition! Check out the BONUS FEST that will happen each weekend through October!
It looks like our 3rd grade class is in the lead with 67% participating, so they are currently in the lead for the Christmas pajama party with 1st grade at 43%! One Scrip order qualifies your family as participating. You can place a backpack order, order from our inventory, or place an e-card order through the app! It all qualifies for this fun incentive and earns you tuition credit!
Scrip Our next Backpack order will be Monday, November 1st. When you are buying your Halloween candy, decor, and costumes, use the Scrip app to purchase them!
Also, for the months of November and December, we will place a Scrip backpack order every Monday! So remember to purchase ahead of time to do your Thanksgiving and Christmas shopping. Or use the app for last minute purchases to use the gift card immediately! Let me know if you have any questions about this program!
Halloween Parties Please contact your child’s teacher, if you have any questions about the Halloween parties on October 29th. If you want to help your child’s teacher with a planned activity, please reach out to the teacher.
All students may bring their costume to school to change into for the Halloween party. All costumes must be school appropriate. No weapons, blood, inappropriate logos, or makeup. Kindergarten through 8th grade students will be dismissed in their costumes at the end of the day. Preschool students may come to school in their costumes since they will be holding their parties in the morning and can change out of their costumes right before lunch.
Veterans Information We are in session on Veterans Day this year. We plan on incorporating as many teachable moments in regards to the special holiday as possible. We would like to send letters to veterans so please use the link provided below to submit names of your family and friends who are active military or veterans. We would also like to hold Google Meets with active military members and/or veterans. Our students vividly remember hearing from veterans last school year, and we realize the strong impact that these meets had on our students. If you know of someone who would be willing to talk to our students about their military experience and answer any questions that our students may have, we would love to set that up. He/she can decide which class and grade level that he/she would like to meet with. Please contact me if you know of anyone interested.
We are also putting together a slideshow of veterans who are connected to our school. We would love to have a picture of your loved one with our St. John jaguar student. If it’s not possible to have a picture of the student with the veteran, you could also take a picture of your student holding a picture of the veteran. Please submit pictures, name, and the branch of the military that they served in to Mrs. Renneker (srenneker@stjohnsschool.us) by Sunday, October 24th.
