Getting Ready for Turkey Day
Students in Mrs. McGinnis's Culinary Arts class are chopping vegetables in preparation for next week's Eagle Thanksgiving dinner! Students, staff, our faithful guest teachers and a few special guests will sit down to a complete Thanksgiving meal next week during school. This Eagle tradition has been going strong for 20 years!
Mixing it up in Biology
The students experimented with yeast and sugar to model the reactants and products of cellular respiration.
Stair Masters
Students in Algebra 1 are seen here measuring the stairs. They are using the rise and run figures to determine slope.
Going Old School in the Old School
Sometimes English class just looks like kids and books. That a good thing!
Climate and Culture
Goodbye Hearts...for now.
Last month we finished up our 10 week program out at the HEARTS therapeutic riding center, called Cowboy Poetry. It was an exciting and innovative curriculum that is wrapped around academic standards, developmental assets and character education skills. The standards encouraged proficiencies in writing, listening and speaking skills. And oh yeah...lots of time with the horses.
Star Performers of the week
Blake and Luis are seen here with their Student of the Week Certificates. Our boys took the top 4 spots for points this week.
Community Connection
UTI is in the house
On Thursday a representative from Universal Technical Institute met with a group of interested Juniors and Seniors.
Pursuing Public Health
PPH is a series of conversations with community leaders concerning pertinent community issues. This week we have linked the first of four conversations with Renate Taylor from the Community Food Bank.about homelessness. (Part 1)
