Mrs. Eske's Team: Building Leaders
4th Grade Newsletter * Week of Sept. 26-30
From the Desk of Mrs. Eske:
Thank you to all of the families who were available to come out and visit us for Open House!! I appreciate you taking time out of your very busy and hectic schedules to share the night with our amazing students!! I truly enjoyed visiting with each of you and seeing excited students sharing their hard work with loved ones!! I also want to thank you for signing up for a time to meet with me for Parent Teacher Conferences, during the week of October 24th. If you have not signed up for a time to meet with me, I will be sending home available times this week. Please sign up to meet with me as soon as possible. I would love to meet with you regarding your child's success in the classroom, as well as any areas of concern. We are expected to have 100% conference attendance, so thank you in advance for finding a time that will work with your schedule.
Mid-Quarter Update:
At this point, I have met with every student regarding their mid-quarter progress. After meeting with each student, I sent home their progress report to be signed and returned. Many have already returned theirs signed. Thank you so much for sending those signed reports back to me as soon as possible, so that we can place them in our data binders for first quarter.
With your child's best interest at heart,
Mrs. Eske
Building LEADERS one subject at a time! Specials Success, First Celebration Earned, and Attendance Shout Out!
Math: This week we will subtract whole numbers, practice subtracting across zero's, and review estimating and rounding, when subtracting.
Health: We started exploring ways that we can be safe at school and at home! This comes just in time for our Bus Evacuation Safety Drill this week and Fire Prevention Assembly that is coming up soon!
Writing: We will generate ideas for writing while listening to examples from an alphabet book, poetry book, and a three-generation memoir.
Specials Success!!!! Last week we earned 5 "4's" in a row for our "PAWS"itive behavior!!!! That is truly amazing!! A four is the best score that we can receive in special area classes and is considered "Gold." We definitely redeemed ourselves from the previous week, when we had a couple of challenging days during specials! When students receive a 3 or a 4, we get to add celebration points for our class. One we get 100, we get to vote on a class celebration. Today we earned 100 and will be voting on a celebration tomorrow!!
Our class attendance goals were achieved last week!!! Thank you for ensuring that your child is here from bell to bell!! Their attendance is so important for their success in the classroom. I appreciate your support so much!!!!!!! They also receive one Jag Buck daily, if they are here from bell to bell!! These Jag Bucks can be used during our monthly Jaguar Junction store visits.
