REPORT CARDS AVAILABLE TODAY ON THE HOME ACCESS CENTER (HAC)
Report cards are ready for you and your child to view. Go to the Jackson Local School District Home page to choose the Home Access Center (HAC) which is listed on the left hand side "Quick Links" menu. Log in to the Home Access Center (HAC) , click on Grades and then you will see 3 tabs, one of which is titled "Report Card". Press that first tab titled "Report Card" and you will see your child's report card. Please know that the GPA is for the nine weeks and your child's attendance will not show up on the Report Card Tab. Also, if your child attends a different school for a Career Tech program they may not have a grade entered yet as their grading periods are different from ours. If you have a student that is enrolled in a CCP course you will only see their final grade for the course listed on the report card per College Credit Plus policy. If you are unable to access your child's grades for one reason or another or have a question about a grade please email us here at Jackson High School. Also, remember that Jackson High School will be mailing home a final printed report card at the end of school year in May.

JHS NO WORK WEEKENDS THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR
In order to support family connection, rest, stress reduction and just plain fun, Jackson High School has implemented four planned no homework weekends for students and staff. This means no homework assigned, no projects due and no tests or quizzes the day students get back to school from that weekend. If students have make-up work they need to get it done to get caught up and have it ready to turn in. Some CCP and Career Tech assignments are out of my control and may need done over these weekends according to those calendars. But, for the most part, students and staff can have long weekends where they don't need to worry about homework and can relax, recharge and destress!!!
This will happen on the following weekends:
- January 14-17
- February 18-21
- April 15-17

STUDENT BEHAVIOR AT EXTRA-CURRICULAR EVENTS
The Jackson Local School District encourages students to attend as many arts and athletic events as student wish. However, this is an important reminder to speak with your child(ren) about behavior at those events. Extra-curricular events are an extension of the school day and the rules and policies students must follow during the school day apply for those events.
However, we expect our students to behave at those events with respect for the officials and participants. Our student code of conduct applies to extra-curricular events.

As we move into the winter months this is a good time to remind our parents how the Jackson Local School District will communicate to you our school closures in the event of inclement weather. In the event that school is canceled, you will receive a text message from the district. Then the district's website will post the cancellation on JacksonLocalSchools.com. The district will post the cancellation on our social media pages, which can be viewed at the end of this newsletter. Finally, the district will information media of the cancellation.
