Give the Gift of Hearing!
USU Audiology Bake Sale Fundraiser
Our Class is helping out USU's Audiology Department with a Fundraiser!
Hello, As you may remember, the 4th & 5th grade classes at Edith Bowen Lab School helped the Utah State University chapter of the Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) at a bake sale in the fall. The bake sale was a wonderful success, mostly due to the enthusiasm of your children in helping to share our message and recruit people to buy the goodies. Because of that success we are going to have another sale and are honored to have your children help again! SAA is a service oriented student organization consisting of graduate students in the Doctor of Audiology (AuD) program. We are committed to helping communities within the realm of audiology and have participated in an annual mission for the past 14 years. We will be traveling to Cambodia in May to give hearing aids to over 1500 people! Additional information about SAA as well as videos from our previous missions can be found on our website: http://www.usuaudiology.com.
On April 11th & 12th we will be hosting a Bake Sale on USU Campus to help fundraise for our upcoming mission. Two of our AuD students have a child in the 4th & 5th grade classes so that is why we asked those classes for their help during our bake sale. We hope that through this they can feel a passion for helping those less fortunate and will share pictures of those we help in Cambodia once we return. Last time the kids who brought items to sell loved showing off what they brought & those items sold very fast! We would love if they could all bring items to sell! We will be at carpool pick up on Monday April 10th and Tuesday April 11th (with signs) and would appreciate any food donations that could be used to sell during our event. Please individually wrap or put items in plastic baggies (2 large or 3 small cookies to a bag). If you make brownies cut them large (3x3). If you can write on the item what it is with a Sharpie it really helps. You can also send the items to school with your child. The 5th graders will be helping on the 11th and the 4th graders on the 12th.
As a mother of children who went to EBLS, I know what a wonderful school it is with amazing parental support. I really appreciate your help in making this a learning opportunity for your child. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you for your support,
