Fill out ballot
- Submit your ballot
Absentee Ballots
Only available if you are not able to vote on the day of election
All must be mailed out
Can be submitted by family
- May be obtained from the town clerk or office of secretary of state
- Illegal absentee voting, including making a false application, is punishable by a fine of up to $10,000 and up to five years in prison
- Also, you can give a note to a person giving them permission to vote in your name
How to Fill out a Ballot
Ballots can be in the form of electronic system, mechanical device or printed ticket
Burlington uses printed tickets
- Simply completely fill in the oval next to the preferred candidate

When?
Town elections- polls are open 8am-8pm
State elections/primary- polls are open from 7am-8pm
- Presidential elections- polls are open 6am-8pm
Who?
To vote you must be a US and Burlington citizen
To vote you must be 18 years of age or older
Must be registered at the town hall
Additional Information
If you were absent from the state during the last week of voter registration, you can register until 4pm the day before election
You MUST register 20 days before any election
