Blue Forms
This is how we decide who needs to begin behavior interventions. This could look like check in/check out, social skills groups with Doug or Shannon, or support from our Bridges room. However, if we don't have the data, we don't know which students need some additional help.
We've had several requests for assistance, with only 2 blue forms filled out so far. We want to help the students and you to be as proactive as possible as opposed to waiting to be reactive to behaviors. Please let me know if you have questions.
Once the form has been completed, it needs to go in my box the same day the incident occurred.

Reminders
- All staff are required to work until 3:05. You cannot leave early even if your duty is over or all of your students have dismissed. If you need to leave early for a special circumstance, you must clear it with Sue or Dawn prior to leaving.
- Some of you are beginning to see that you need to move students in your room or in line. This is completely fine to do, but make sure you are updating these documents in our Google Drive. You will upload the new seating chart or line order list with the current date of change and your name. Remember that we would like to have at least the last 2 in the folder. You can find the link to the folder HERE.
- Make sure you are sticking to your scheduled time for restroom, recess, and lunch. Some of you may go from one thing to the other, for example, restroom straight to lunch. When you notice your class continually finishes early, you can head to restroom a few minutes later to time your lunch pick up correctly. I've been super impressed with the speed that some of you are getting through restroom and lunch pick up. Nice job getting students into that routine early!
- Our COVID protocols are in place for student and staff safety, so we can stay in school. Please remember to wear your mask, socially distance, and sanitize. Our protocols only provide the layers of safety when they are in place consistently. If we are complacent or fail to follow protocols, staff and students can get sick. This is NOT what we want for ourselves, colleagues, students or our school. Be vigilant!
Emergency Sub Plans
- These plans are for, at minimum, 5 days. They will be used if you have to quarantine and cannot come into work. You will NOT pull from these if you are using a normal sick or personal day.
- The plans should be work students can do in connection with skills covered at the beginning of the quarter. They would not be specific to lessons, like complete Math lesson 2.2. It would be more general, like an activity practicing rounding if you work on rounding first quarter. As we move through the year, we will ask you for updated plans periodically.
- The plans should have specific times of your schedule and include details about our COVID guidelines.
- Somewhere at the top should be a statement explaining where they can find the copies.
- Copies should already be made for each of the activities during the 5 days.
These are due to Dawn and Sue by 3:00 pm Friday, September 11th. Please send us and email with your plans attached and we will drop them in our folder for access if needed.
Message from Marty
- Which students am I redirecting too often?
- What time of day has the most redirects? (I need to tighten up expectations here.)
- Which gender do I redirect the most?
- What ethnicity do I redirect the most?
- What did our team learn from this activity and what will we do next?
Be prepared with your tally chart and reflection on these questions when she returns on October 7th.

Morning Meeting
Please remember that morning meeting starts right after announcements and goes until 8:10. Also, it isn't a time to talk about the schedule of the day or events. While you may briefly prepare them for a change in schedule, it should not be a part of the morning meeting format. It should follow all four morning meeting components, include the curriculum provided, and be centered around building social skills in our classrooms.
Monday - Follow morning meeting components, but for activity, discuss something unique to your room that needs to be reviewed or taught in regards to social skills. If you don't have anything that needs to be reviewed or taught in regards to social skills, then you would do a morning meeting lesson from our shared drive, linked below.
Tuesday - Second Steps Day 1 (This should have started this past week on September 1).
Wednesday - Second Steps Day 2 OR a morning meeting lesson from the shared drive, linked below.
Thursday - Second Steps Day 2 OR a morning meeting lesson from the shared drive, linked below.
Friday - Morning meeting lesson from the shared drive, linked below.
If you have questions or need guidance in any way, please let me know. Again, all lessons and ppts are provided and linked in the button below.
