WHAT'S HAPPENING

Math: This week we practiced telling time to the half hour. We needed more practice and now students are doing great at telling time! Today we graphed Lucky Charms cereal as practice for our upcoming graphing unit (and to have a little fun before Spring Break)!

Reader's Workshop: This week we continued working in book clubs with fiction and nonfiction books. We focused primarily on author's purpose this week (entertain, inform and purpose). You can help your student by asking them what they think the author's purpose is after they finish a book!

Writer's Workshop: This week we wrapped up our Student Treasures book. Students finished typing their poems on classroom laptops and illustrated their pages. We also learned about one more type of poetry: color poems! The students had fun writing and thinking of things that are their favorite color.

Science: This week we talked about solids, liquids and gases. We brainstormed different objects and categorized them. We completed the week with a solid/liquid/gas sorting activity!
