JOB OPPORTUNITIES
There are new job opportunities available. Please check out the job board in Mrs. Odegaard's room for more information and details on each position!
Dee Zee is holding a showcase for students which includes a local facility tour, presentation, and product build to promote the rewarding, highly skilled jobs for students available in manufacturing.
This event will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
If you could please respond as soon as possible with your interest, it would greatly be appreciated. The deadline for registration has been extended to Friday, September 14th.
- Activity Assistant: The Bird’s Nest is looking for FUN and hardworking activity assistants for the school year. Applicants must be able to work after school and on no school days. We will be accepting applications for this position through Friday, August 31st. Please stop in for an application!
Williamson's Pumpkin Paradise is looking for pumpkin pickers.
This would be for about 3-4 weeks of work and willing to work with schedules.

FFA Meeting
We are excited to announce an informational meeting for high school students that are interested in starting and joining the Bondurant-Farrar FFA chapter. This meeting is for parents/guardians and students to learn more about the organization and to answer any questions or concerns that anyone may have. During a portion of the meeting, the Iowa FFA State officers will take the students to do activities and teach them a little more about the FFA organization. The meeting will take place in the Bondurant-Farrar Agriculture room (#141) on September 17th starting at 6:00 pm. We hope to see you there!

DMACC Discovery Days for Sophomores
As part of the school counseling curriculum, sophomores will have the opportunity to learn more about college and career readiness by exploring professions and career pathways through DMACC’s Career Discovery Days. These days allow students to explore career pathways through hands-on activity sessions and to learn about educational opportunities from instructors at DMACC. All sophomores will be emailed a google form to fill out indicating which Career Discovery Days they are interested in attending. Students will then meet with me to fill out the registration form for the event. DMACC will hold more days in the spring and we will inform you of those days later this semester when they are announced.

PSAT INFO
The PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) is a program cosponsored by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). This test is for juniors to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship. The test is good practice for college admission tests, however, this is the only test that will qualify you for the National Merit Scholarship opportunities. Sophomores are allowed to take the test as a practice for their junior year. They will not be eligible for any scholarship money but is a good practice for their junior year. The PSAT test will be given at the high school on Wednesday, Oct. 10th at 8:00 A.M. The fee to take the test is $16. There are only 50 tests available for our school and is first come first serve in order of online registration.
