Salazar Roadrunner
Weekly Bulletin • April 25-29, 2016
A Word from Dina and Anna
Another good week at Salazar has come and gone. As you are aware, there are many things coming up this last six weeks.
Please work to continue to build those relationships with students and choose your battles. That doesn't mean that we ignore behavior, but instead be proactive. Think about behaviors that should be teacher managed and those that require administrative attention.
Discussion of appropriate behaviors in the classroom, at lunch, PE, etc. will help as will lessons that are engaging and challenging. Remember students' attention spans are short, so have "mental break" activities ready and don't have them seated too long.
- Please remind students to bring in the HB5 Parent Surveys, if they have not done so.
- We will be arranging time for students in 3rd and 4th grade to take the student surveys in the lab very soon.
- We are finishing up observations and will soon be conducting summatives. Thank you for completing the last parts of the self-report.
Turnaround Plan Update
The Turnaround Committee will be receiving the plan and a survey soon. Mr. Santillan just wants to get the resources part added. The plan will also be shared with all staff because we are ALL stakeholders in this process.
Thanks for your hard work and be looking for the email with the plan soon.
Team Building
Education is the Key...
What would your perfect school look like...sound like...feel like?
Vision Statement
"Our vision is to create one of the state's best schools where all students are motivated and perform at or above grade level in engaging classes created by staff and parents who collaborate as partners."
This vision statement should guide everything we do. How does it apply to communication (with parents, students and each other), lesson planning and delivery, and behavior management. Need help? Come visit with us.
