Texas Achievement Items Repository
The Texas Achievement Items Repository (TxAIR) system allows teachers to create quizzes and assessments by selecting items aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Items in the TxAIR system are vetted by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Students may take an assessment in either an online or paper format.
The following sections include a video tutorial for each level of functionality within the system. There is also an accompanying TxAIR training manual in the Related Items located at the bottom of the screen.

Proclamation 2017 Pre-Adoption Samples

Teach North Texas at the University of North Texas is offering an Advanced Placement Summer Institute to meet the growing need for AP teachers.
The workshops offered during the institute will be for the following courses:

Bootstrap: Video Game Programming with Algebra – June 27-28, 2016
TRC is reimbursing transportation and lodging to the Bootstrap: Video Game Programming with Algebra in Houston on June 27-28, 2016.
Bootstrap teaches students to program their own video games in an algebraic programming language, exposing them to key math concepts. Middle- and high-school teachers around the country have implemented the curriculum as a one-month module, a weekly activity or an after school program.
Eligible Attendees
Texas teachers of mathematics in grades 6- 8, Algebra I teachers, and both middle and high school technology applications/computer science teachers are eligible to attend.

Computer Science (CS) Certification Preparation Opportunity
In an effort to increase the number of certified computer science teachers in Texas, the University of Texas at Austin Center for STEM Education is offering a free online version of the WeTeach_CS Certification Preparation course. This course launches June 14, and registration is available now.
WeTeach_CS Certification Prep is a comprehensive, six-week program that prepares educators to take and pass the CS certification test. It reviews all of the main concepts covered in the three certification domains: Software Design and Development, Programming Language topics, and Technology Applications. Teachers with at least some prior experience in coding or programming interested in becoming certified to teach Grades 8-12 Computer Science are eligible to attend.
After the Computer Science certification test is passed and teachers have applied for the certification, a $1,000 stipend will be awarded by the Texas Regional Collaboratives (TRC) thanks to support from 100Kin10 and the TEA.
