Peek at the Week
Dec.9-13
Edgelea Staff Padlet.
The Giving Tree
We have created a giving tree in our teacher's lounge. We have 8 kiddos at Edgelea that need a little Christmas. If you would like to pull an ornament off the tree and bring an item in, it would certainly help brighten some little one's Christmas morning. Please bring the item, unwrapped, and place the tag/ornament on it and leave it under the same tree. We will collect gifts and distribute on December 19th.
A BIG Thank YOU to Cornerstone Church. They are graciously buying Christmas for 25 of our students. However, the 8 on the tree, were not included in the list to Cornerstone Church.
Barnes & Nobel
Final Details Regarding Barnes and Nobel Saturday, Dec. 7 Performance:
- Chinese students will perform beginning at 11:00. Please have students at Barnes & Nobel by 10:45.
- Fourth grade students will perform following the Chinese groups. Mrs. Debbie Miller, music teacher is planning for a 12:00 musical performance. She would like 4th grade students at Barnes & Nobel by 11:45.
- Parents are responsible for transporting and supervising their own children at Barnes & Nobel.
- We understand December is a very busy month. Families have obligations and commitments. It is OK if your child can't attend. This is not mandatory. It is great fun, but not mandatory. I will be out of town at my niece's wedding, so unfortunately, I will not be in attendance.

Book Study Opportunity
Email from Dr. Clevenger:
We would like to extend an invitation to participate in a Spring 2020 LSC Book Study. We offered this opportunity last year and had an overwhelmingly positive response. The opportunity will be a blended model, utilizing Canvas as an online platform while holding two live meetings to collaborate and reflect in person. You DO NOT need to be a Canvas expert to participate. We will get you signed up and ready to go before our book study begins. We will be reading the sequel to last spring’s book study. The title is Relationship, Responsibility, and Regulation: Trauma-Invested Practices for Fostering Resilient Learners written by Kristin Van Marter Souers with Pete Hall. Participating in last spring’s book study IS NOT a requirement for signing up this year! PGPs will be offered for both the online reflections and live meetings (approx. 8-10 PGPs total available).
Tentative Schedule:
Late January & Early February – Canvas Reflections
February 27th – Meeting @ Sunnyside Intermediate 4:00-5:00
March – Canvas Reflections
April 2nd – Meeting @ Sunnyside Intermediate 4:00-5:00
If you are interested in participating with other LSC colleagues, please click on the link below. Registration will be open until Friday, December 13th. This will allow us to distribute books before break.

Edgelea T-Shirts and Sweatshirts Adult and Children Sizes
Last Chance! Edgelea is offering low-cost and affordable t-shirts and sweatshirts starting at only $5.00. This is not a fundraiser. We simply want to offer affordable shirts for families for the holidays. You may order online until Monday, Dec. 9. We will make special arrangements with you for delivery if you don't want your child to see them before the holidays. Click on the link below.
A big THANK YOU to Lyle at Axiom Graphix for making this possible.
STEM GINGER BREAD BOY Activities
If you would like to participate in a Gingerbread Boy STEM project, we will gladly pay for supplies out of our ECA account. You must save your receipts and turn them in to Deb Davidson. It would be best if one person per grade level would turn the receipts in. Annette and I have several versions of the Gingerbread Boy book for you to borrow. Please let me know if you have projects you would like to display on Dec. 19-20th in the main hallway.
The last week before break is a great time to really sink your teeth into a PBL activity with your students. Please invite Mandy and I into your classrooms to participate and to join in on the fun learning.
