October 7 Community Newsletter
Dear parents and guardians,
Spirit Week for high school students brought class bonding activities each day. Students that have perfect attendance for the Month of September will receive Mister Softee as an incentive! There was a pep rally during last period where the homecoming court was introduced and classes competed in activities!
Please come out tomorrow for our homecoming football game against Woodstown at 10:30. Wear your white and gold Woodbury gear!
PS: Don't forget that Monday is Columbus Day and we have school.
Thank you to all the parents that participated in FAFSA night.
Every week we will feature students discussing WHY they love Woodbury. This week we featured the Junior-Senior High School September Student's of the Month. Also, we have an amazing author Mya Reid that is featured this week.
In partnership,
Principal Taylor
Nurse Updates
Please review Covid-19 Information on the school’s website. Guidance is provided for positive cases and close contacts. Please continue to notify the attendance office or the school nurses if your child tests positive.
· Keep those School Nurse Emergency Cards coming in!
· Sixth Grade Immunization records are due. Please send in proof of TdaP and Meningitis vaccines as your child receives them. You may also notify the nurse that they have been completed. Students will be excluded from school if updated medical information is not received by October 14.
· It is important to arrange ahead of time for a friend/family member to serve as someone who could pick up your child if they become sick or injured at school. Children should be picked up within one hour of a parent/guardian being notified.
· Please encourage your child to eat breakfast at home or take part in the breakfast available at school. Many headaches and stomach aches can be avoided if breakfast is eaten.

Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week empowers parents to start a conversation, and make a pledge that encourages our kids to live drug free and helps them to succeed. Watch this brief video overview of Red Ribbon Week.
As parents, we want our kids to grow up safe, happy, and healthy. We want them to be responsible, to make good choices, and to achieve their goals.
But the truth is, we won't always be there to protect them. So we equip our kids to make good decisions.
Talking with our kids about drugs isn't easy, but Red Ribbon Week can help.
A red ribbon showing the dates for Red Ribbon Week - October 23 through October 31 - is shown on the screen.
Red Ribbon Week empowers parents to start a conversation, and make a pledge that encourages our kids to live drug free and helps them to succeed.
How will you use Red Ribbon Week to encourage your kids to be drug free?
An estimated 80 million people participate in Red Ribbon Week each year.

Sports and Activities Updates
Cross Country
Despite cold and rainy conditions, Peyton Shute on Saturday became Gloucester County’s fastest runner at Holmdel County Park in 12 years. Shute, a junior, ran 16:01 to place 4th in the Group F race at the Shore Coaches Invitational. That’s fastest by a Gloucester County runner at Holmdel since Paul Szulewski of Williamstown ran 15:54 at the 2010 Meet of Champions. It’s a family best: Older brother Brady ran 16:09 in 2020 at the Holmdel Invitational
