Weekly Update
Good news: It's still July! We hope our students, staff, and families are recharging for a great year ahead. As we watch schools around the country start opening, I am sure everyone is wondering about our health and safety guidance going into the fall. Although we have been able to do some planning with the information we currently have, we are told the State will be issuing formal guidance the week of August 9th (at the latest). Having students safely in school, full-time is our priority. What that means pertaining to masks, social distancing, quarantine requirements, etc... is still being clarified but please know full-time, in-person school will be our focus.
There is a small window each year to clean buildings, perform needed maintenance, and make updates to existing facilities. As I tour each building, I'd like to give a shout out to our building maintenance crews for their incredible work this summer to ensure our facilities are clean and safe for students to return in the fall. We recently completed a significant project at Stowe Middle / High School to update the electrical system and the Peoples Academy parking lot is currently being repaved. These were the two major projects scheduled for this summer.
See below: I had a chance to interview Mrs. Nicholls from the Elmore School. As someone that didn't know a lot about the Elmore School before starting in this position, I have really enjoyed learning about the last one room schoolhouse in the state and thought you might too; it's truly something that sets our district apart.
Please enjoy the weekend and reach out with any questions or concerns.

P.S. If you haven't completed our three question survey, please take a minute to help me learn about your hopes and dreams for our district.
Three Minute Interview: The Elmore School
Below: Volunteers recently built a gaga pit behind the Elmore School. It is a tradition for third grade families to make a contribution to the school and this is one that will bring a lot of joy!
