1 Nine Weeks Finished!
Friday marked the end of the First Nine Weeks, and it's been an amazing year so far. Reports cards will be mailed to you, so look for those in your mail box later next week.

Volleyball Getting Ready for Tournament
The LVMS girls volleyball team travelled to Jarrell on Thursday night, and came away with three wins. More details to follow...
Our middle school volleyball teams competed in a district game Thursday night in Jarrell.
Below you will find the highlights from the games:
7 Blue Team:(4-4)
Set 1 - LOST 18-25
Set 2 - LOST 19-25
Players: Alanna Biniak, Kira Federoff, Kambree Meyer, Elaina Rempl, Ivonne Saavedra, Maddie Nowlin, Sabrina Vaughan, Elle Voita, Reagan Phariss, Emily Wilson
Highlights: Maddie Nowlin led the team with 11 serves. Alanna Biniak contributed 6 serves. Passing leaders were Alanna with 7 passes, and Reagan Phariss and Maddie each had 4 passes. Our assist leaders were Maddie with 7 and Emily Wilson with 3. Our big hitters of the evening were Ivonne Saavedra with 4 kills and Alanna Biniak had 2 kills!
7 Gold Team:(6-3)
Set 1 - WON 25-20
Set 2 - WON 25-17
Players: Sana Felix, Rylie Greenlees, Kendall Karg, Brooke Everett, Jaelyn Hergenreder, Mary Spiers, Jada Malone, Addison Lockhart, Emma Clark, Maddie Nowlin
Highlights:
Our serving leaders were Brooke Everett and Addison Lockhart who contributed 8 serves each. Rylie Greenlees also contributed 5 serves. Our assist leaders were Jaelyn Hergenreder with 9 sets, and Kendall Karg contributed 7. Addison Lockhart smashed the ball and had 10 kills for her team. Brooke Everett and Jada Malone also contributed 4 kills apiece.
8 Blue Team:

Set 3 - WON 15-10
Players: Bella Dreibrodt, Maya Ramsey, Sofia Xuereb, Cali Wright, Jill Jungman, Sam Hiebert, Trinity Bandow, Casey Parsons, Jocelyn Hargrove, Ryann Kurth, Morgan Burke, CJ Hood
Highlights: Leading the team in serves were Morgan Burke with 11 and Sofia Xureub with 6 (and the game winning serve in the 3rd set!).. Maya Ramsey and Sofia Xureub led the team with 13 passes.
CJ Hood led with 3 attacks/hits, and Morgan Burke led the team with 123 sets and assists followed by Sam Hiebert with 21.
8 Gold Team:
Set 1 - WON 25-11
Set 2 - WON 25-17
Players: Abby Jackson, Olivia Vincent, Pauline D’Ogny, Peyton Stoner, Crosby Curtis, Kamryn Fogel, Arianna Biniak, Morgan Burke, Maddie Patterson, Lauren Villegas, Stella Robinson, and Saydie Kassell.
Highlights:
Abby Jackson led the team in serves with 21 points, 18 of those serves were in the first game and all in a row!! Leading the team in passes was Maddie Patterson and Saydie Kassell with 15 each. Olivia Vincent had 30 passes/assist, followed by Peyton Stoner with 29. Saydie Kassell led the team with 6 attack/hits.
It was a GREAT day to be a Viking!
The District Tournament is coming up NEXT weekend, October 27th!
Football Bye Week
This week, the rain forced them inside and they had a great practice in the gym.

We move from sport to sport pretty quick, and basketball is right around the corner! Girls Basketball tryouts will be October 29th and 30th, while Boys Basketball tryouts will be November 9th and 12th. More details to follow!

Teacher Luncheon - October 19th!
Wow, thank you parents.. way to show up at our teacher appreciation lunch! Our amazing teachers had a long day and worked into the night at the school dance; it was a blessing to provide such a wonderful spread. They all had full bellies and thankful hearts!
A big thanks to all the parents that helped make it a success & Jennifer Bandow with Salon At Highland that sponsored a last minute request. Also, a huge thank you to Nancy Priddy, Cindy Scott & Brandy Cumberland for working the event.
November & December are traditionally baked goods that the teachers can bring home in lieu of lunch so if you are a baker please consider blessing our teachers.

Will Janson - Debate and Mythbusters
Where are you originally from?
Born in Andrews, Texas. Grew up in Comanche, Tx.
What led you to want to be a teacher? How long have you been in education?
I always felt at home in school. School is my most comfortable setting. Athletics and education helped shape who I am. I have been in education for 18 years.
Tell us about your family.
I have been married to Elizabeth Janson for 15 years (This December). Elizabeth is a very talented cake designer and subs in the district. We have lived in Lago since Jan. 2016. My 2 daughters (Jenna 9 and Brookley 6) attend LVES. Jenna is a golfer and Brookley is into dancing and singing. We absolutely love living here and do NOT plan on moving. This is our home.
What are your favorite hobbies?
My favorite hobbies include: playing guitar, golf, and family time.
What is your favorite football team?
My favorite football team is THE University of Texas Longhorns!
If you could travel anywhere, where would you want to go?
IF I could travel anywhere...Alaska!
Did you have any jobs before you became a teacher? What were they?
The only professional jobs I have had are in education. Before I taught, I would work (while in college) at restaurants...as a server.

What led you to want to be a teacher? How long have you been in education?
While in college, I coached a youth basketball team. After that experience, I knew I wanted to coach and teach.
Tell us about your family.
I have a beautiful wife, Lisa, and three awesome boys Cody 17, Bryce 14, and Brooks 12. All 3 boys have been going to school and playing sports here in Lago since Kindergarten.
What are your favorite hobbies?
I like to play golf, fish, surf and hang out with friends and family.
What is your favorite food?
My favorite food would probably be seafood.
What is your favorite video game?
Mike Tyson’s Punch Out is my all-time favorite video game. However, I do enjoy an occasional game of free fire on the iPhone/ipad. (Of course never at school, Mr. Webb)
