Free PBS Workshop at Detroit Public TV!
Detroit Public TV is offering a FREE PBS Learning Media Workshop at their studios in Wixom on Friday, August 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. They are looking for “tech-interested" and "content-interested" teachers from across the state.
The experts from PBS will be in town for one day only on Friday, August 7 to share their knowledge and the resources of PBS Learning Media with local teachers. Only 100 teachers will have the opportunity to learn about the vast resources of PBS Learning Media, listen to best practices, connect with peers, tour Detroit Public Television, and gain access to a free one-year subscription to PBS Learning Media Custom service--—a $395 value.
It is a great opportunity to showcase Detroit Public Television’s education initiative, and a wonderful event for teachers to mix, mingle, and discover what resources are at their disposal, courtesy of PBS.
This year’s guest speaker is John Sessler, who leads trainings and professional development sessions around the country for PBS LearningMedia. Prior to joining PBS, John taught arts and literacy programs that partnered with schools throughout the Midwest. John's graduate coursework focused on the design and implementation of blended learning environments and digital curricula for pre-K - 12th grade students. He holds an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.S. from Northwestern University.
PBS Learning Media’s Teacher Workshop is FREE for teachers Pre-K - 12th grade who live or teach in the Detroit Public TV broadcast area. Registration is LIMITED to two teachers per school building.
If you are interested in participating or know someone who is, please go to http://bit.ly/PBSLMatDPTV for more information or to register.
