This week…our focus will be on narrative writing. We will review the GMAS narrative writing rubric and examine sample GMAS writing examples that were released from the state. After reviewing these examples and rubric, scholars will complete a timed narrative writing assignment based on a given prompt and literary piece that will be graded using the GMAS narrative writing rubric.
9th Grade Advanced Lit/Comp:
This week…scholars will complete their D.B.Q over “The House on Mango Street” by completing a timed writing piece over a given prompt using the resources that were thoroughly examined throughout the previous week.
Scholars will also read the famous short story, “The Tell-Tale Heart,” by the mysterious, Edgar Allan Poe. We will discuss several literary concepts and complete a writing piece at the conclusion of the text.
