In January, students at RHS worked extremely hard to finish their midterm exams! We are now looking ahead and we are ready for a great new semester!

Student T-Shirts
Mr. Magao is giving out free RHS T-Shirts to students who meet the following criteria for Quarter 2:
- Passing all classes
- 3 or less tardies
- No discipline referrals
- Maintains good attendance
- Must have multiple hours of community service turned into school counseling
If you qualify for these things, please see an administrator to receive it!
RHS Swag Raffle
Teachers are looking for students to do the right thing! Working Hard, Playing Hard, and Owning it could earn you a swag raffle ticket. This ticket can be placed into a variety of raffles to win prizes such as RHS T-shirts, socks, and masks!

Spring Connecticut College Fair & Local Summer Pre-College Opportunities
The RHS School Counseling Department wanted to pass along two opportunities:
UCONN, ECSU, CCSU, SCSU and WCSU will be hosting two virtual college fairs in the coming months.

Heart Grams- Valentine's Day is near!
You can purchase a heart gram for $1 and send messages and treats to your friends for Valentine's Day. These will be sold during lunch from February7-11.

Class of 2025 Fundraiser

STUDENT-TEACHER TEAM CHOSEN FOR NATIONAL HISTORY DAY SUMMER INSTITUTE IN HAWAIʻI
Mrs. Regina Lee and RHS student Nicolas Angeli are among 16 teams across the country that were chosen for National History day! Congratulations to Nick and Mrs. Lee!
Fast Fierce Women: 75 Essays of Flash Non-fiction
RHS teacher Mrs. Rizzo is published in a book and it comes out in March! Congrats to Mrs. Rizzo. You can find the book for pre-order on Amazon!
Scholastic Art and Writing Winners
Twenty-nine Rockville High School students are winners in the 2022 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards presented by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers.
RHS Creative Writers received 49 awards this year, including 10 Gold Keys, 16 Silver Keys, and 23 Honorable Mentions, the highest number of any participating high school in the state of Connecticut.
Muriel Stankeviciute received a 2022 American Voices Nomination for Best in Show.
Kaylin Maher and Dakota Ouellette earned Gold Keys for their writing portfolios.
Congratulations to all! This is a huge accomplishment!
Ms. Tawey's French 2 Honors class creating posters about Crepes Day in France on February 2.
Student Peter K built this bird house in Mr. Sheldon's class. Great work, Peter!
Clarisa Halpryn has the Guitar she made in Mr. Puniello's class on display in the square!
Students use Wacom tablets in Mrs. Tooker's Digital Art Class to create their masterpieces.
Students in Mrs. Lanz's Anatomy and Physiology class complete two labs on cellular respiration in the ZSpace lab.
RHS Youth Equity Squad (Y.E.S)
Black Health and Wellness is the Theme for Black History Month 2022! RHS YES is drawing attention to the racial disparities in American Healthcare so we all can be part of the change.

RHS Esports
The RHS Esports Team is looking for new League of Legends players! If you are interested, please see Coach Schlett or Coach Berry for more details. Join to learn the game and no experience is necessary!!
Library Media Club
There is still time to join the Winter Read-A-Thon! If you love to read and would like to participate, you have to read at least 4 books to complete a "BINGO" on your bingo card! Please go to the Library Media Center to pick up a bingo card and book review sheets. Turn in your completed bingo card and your 4-5 review sheets to the Library Media Center on or before March 7th!
All entries will receive a small prize and be entered into a raffle to win a Barnes and Noble or Dunkin' Donuts gift card. Extra "BINGOS" on your sheet earn you extra entries into the raffle. See below for directions and rules to guide you!

RHS Jazz Band
Do you like jazz? You're in luck, because the RHS Jazz Band is starting up! The first meeting is on February 2nd from 6 to 8pm, but if you can't make it you can always come to a later practice. You do not need much experience to be involved in this jazzy ensemble, just an interest in music and a motive to learn! For questions and more information, contact Mrs. Ayer.
Rockville Athletics
Fans are back and Free!Students are now allowed back into games and for any RHS students attending, it's free! We hope to see some Rockville spirit at our home games the rest of the season! GO RAMS!
Winter Sports Updates
- Our basketball and hockey teams are working hard and looking to qualify for the state tournament.
- Track, wrestling, swim, and gymnastics athletes are working towards qualifying for state meets.
- Our cheerleading team is preparing for the conference and state competitions.

Spring Sports
Spring sports registration is open. Here is the link- https://www.familyid.com/organizations/rockville-high-school-vcms
Spring sports begin on or after March 19th. Specific dates and times will be posted on the school’s website. Registration deadline is March 16th. Students must be passing 5 classes from quarter 2 in order to be eligible to participate in a spring sport.
