News Now with Norris!

A weekly newsletter from your Norris Knights.

October 9, 2015

Hello everyone,

Another Friday has arrived! Michelle and I want to thank the PTA, the volunteers, the children, and YOU for everything that you do each and every day to make our school successful week after week.

We are continuing to spotlight a series we are calling "Mastering the Mind" adapted from a short motivational book written by Mentoring Minds. As a reminder, this series will provide a quick spotlight on how our mind and thoughts impact our behavior, emotions and success.

Topic 2: Accomplishment

"The three great essentials to achieving anything worthwhile are: first, hard work; second, stick-to-it-iveness; and third, common sense.

-Thomas Edison

"It is time for us to stand and cheer for the doer, the achiever, the one who recognizes the challenge and does something about it."

-Vince Lombardi

One of the things we are working on at Norris Elementary is what to do when we find ourselves in situations and we don't know which way to turn. We are teaching our students that it is in the process and the struggle that we learn the most. We want students to be able to deal with any problem or situation that surfaces and thus, reach a level of accomplishment that lifts you to a higher level.

Thanks for the great feedback from many of you on last week's topic. Keep it coming. Michelle and I enjoy hearing your take on this!
