Attention current 6th grade parents & guardians:

6th Grade Parents:

Immunizations and Sports Physicals

Minnesota state law requires each student entering 7th grade in the 2023-24 school year to update their immunizations. The state law requires all students to have the proper documentation on file for the following vaccines before they can attend school.

Most students will need these 2 new vaccinations before 7th grade:

  • Tetanus/pertussis booster – Tdap (given after the 7th birthday)
  • Meningitis (meningococcal)

Health information and immunization dates on file at school can be found through your Parent Portal account online. Please turn in an updated copy of any recent immunizations. Parents may object to immunizations for medical reasons or by conscientious exemption by filling out the Pupil Immunization Record, notarizing it, and submitting it to the school nurse.

Please schedule your doctor appointment this spring to update immunizations. If your child plans to participate in a school sport after school, ask your doctor to complete a sports physical form. A sports physical is good for three years.

Please call or email the nurse with any information or questions.

Every Meal Update & Summer Food Resource Information

Every Meal is unable to provide bags of food this summer as they did last year due to inflation, a significant increase in demand and an unrelated, but impactful fallout from the Feeding our Future fraud scheme.

Every Meal has a website of resources and The Open Door Pantry in Eagan has a variety of opportunities for families to access food this summer as well as through our district summer meals program.

Growing Through Grief

Parents/Guardians,

If you have a student who is dealing with the loss of an immediate family member (sibling, parent, grandparent, caregiver) or individual who significantly influenced your student and feel they would benefit from participating in Park Nicollet's Growing Through Grief group, we would like to offer your student this grief group opportunity. Scott Highlands Middle School will be hosting this group again; this year it will be facilitated by Jenny Simmonds, a licensed grief therapist through Park Nicollet. Group sessions will be held during the school day and will run throughout the school year. Our hope is that this group would begin sometime in October. If you are interested in having your student participate, please email your student's school counselor with the name of your student and they will contact you to provide further information.

Thank you~
