The Siegrist Star
Week of February 26, 2024
Great things happened this week!
Student-Led Conferences
Student-led conferences are an opportunity for students to showcase and explain their learning goals and share their progress with their families. Student-led conferences can be set up in a variety of ways, including: a small group of students and families in the room at a time walking through steps to show their learning progress this year, individual teacher/student/parent discussions, or a mixture of both formats. Your child's teacher has worked to set up a meaningful evening for students and their families. If you have any questions regarding the format of student-led conferences, please contact your child's teacher.
3rd Grade Field Trip
Third Grade had an incredibly beautiful warm day for their field trip at Kauffman Stadium on Wednesday. The kids loved touring the stadium, taking in the history of baseball and using their math and science skills to investigate the game. Our third grade leaders measured equipment, compared and contrasted and even made predictions that they tested. It was such a fun day and our school cannot wait for baseball season to start. Go Royals!
High Five Friday!
Thank you to our Watch D.O.G.S. this morning for greeting our students this morning!
Positive Messages!
The Student Lighthouse positive environment team and some of the yearbook team were outside during LEAD Time using sidewalk chalk to decorate the car rider and bus rider areas with positive messages to staff, students and bus drivers.
APEX Update
We're moving on up with our daily pledges! As of this morning, Friday February 23, we have raised $13,532 for our school with donations/pledges from 28 states! Let's see how close we can get to hitting all 50 states by the end of next week! Awesome job team, keep up the great work! Our top team this morning is still Wright's crew at $49.73 per lap! WOOT WOOT! We're still looking for that class with a 100% login rate so that we can have our awesome donut party! Our 3 winners from Woods crew that were announced yesterday earned the pie in the face challenge from yesterday. Our challenge for this weekend will be a grade challenge! The grade with the most increase by Monday morning will get to have a water balloon standoff with the APEX team! Its gonna be a blast, LETS GO!
