Attendance By Grade-Level
Research shows a direct relationship between school attendance, academic achievement and success in school. The state’s Missouri School Improvement Plan (MSIP5) expectation for public school attendance is 90% or above.
We are striving to ensure that at least 90% of students are here at least 90% of the time. At the end of 3rd quarter, we will share another update about the percentage of students who have met that goal by grade-level, but until then we will share the average attendance by grade-level each week.
See below for the average attendance by grade-level from January 29th - February 5th.
Kindergarten: 89.43%
1st Grade: 90.46%
2nd Grade: 90.98%
3rd Grade: 92.56%
4th Grade: 92.10%
5th Grade: 92.95%
School: 91.40%

Instructions for Bus Riders
- Buses will return to using the front loop.
- Your child’s bus will continue to have first priority through traffic.
Instructions for Walkers
- Please continue to put your child on the school bus or drive them to school. Unless you can walk with your child all the way to and from the door, please do not have your child walk to school.
- Walking paths will continue to be blocked by construction and equipment. In addition, the sidewalk installation alongside the bus loop is not yet complete. We are not yet to a point where it is safe for students to walk to the building.
Instructions for Car Riders
- Car rider line procedures will remain the same during arrival and dismissal.
Tri-County Mental Health Services Parent Night
Talking about suicide does not plant the idea in someone’s head. Honest and direct dialogue can open communication and relieve stress for that person.
Know the warning signs and risk factors of suicide.
- Ask, “Do you ever feel so bad you have thoughts of suicide or self-harm?”
- Emphasize the importance of speaking up and seeking out help.
- Have your kids think of three trusted adults they can go to for support. This is the number one protective factor for youth.
For more resources on how to talk to your children about suicide, visit EncourageHopeAndHelp.com.
Join Tri-County for a Parent Night on February 20th from 6-7pm at Park Hill District Office.

Habits At Home: Habit 4: Think Win-Win
Think Win-Win n is the belief that everyone can win. It’s not me or you—it is both of us. It is a belief that there are enough good things for everyone; it is an abundant way of thinking. Think Win-Win is being happy for others when good things happen to them.
- Play a game with your child(ren) that has a definite winner. Explain how competition is okay when you play a game, but it is not okay in relationships. Discuss how tense it would be in your home if every situation had to have a winner. A better way to think is win-win. This means we think of solutions that we can all feel good about when there is a problem. The more we Think Win-Win, the fewer problems there will be. You may want to display a chart listing the days of the week. When someone is “caught” thinking win-win, he or she gets to write his or her name on the chart for that day.
- Encourage win-win solutions to sibling disputes. Don’t always be the mediator; let them work out a solution and be sure to be lavish children with praise when they do.
- Think of an ongoing conflict you tend to have with your child (homework, cleaning his or her room, feeding the dog, putting gas in the car) and then discuss a win-win solution to the conflict. Write down the solution and then remind each other of it the next time the situation arises.

Do You Know A Park Hill Star?
The Park Hill Star recognition program was started in 2015 to celebrate support staff and teachers whose work is especially noteworthy.
The following is an overview of the Park Hill Star Program:
Our employees are the reason we are so successful here in the Park Hill School District, and we would like to recognize them for all they do for our students.
That is why we present the Park Hill Star award once a month to a pre-K or elementary teacher, a secondary teacher and a support employee.
Southeast Communication
You will find several ways to stay up to date on school activities throughout the year on the Southeast website , Facebook, Twitter and newsletters from your child’s teacher. You will also occasionally get an automated email or voicemail message sent to you by the school with important information and reminders. We know two-way communication is best, so please feel free to call, email, or stop by the school with any questions you may have regarding your child’s education.
