A message from the principal
Greetings Wilson Families,
As a school, we had a blast walking in the Anoka Halloween "Big Parade of Little People" last week. The weather was cooler and windy, but it was still a fun event. We have now flipped the calendar to November and have another fun event coming up. On Thursday, November 9th, we'll be having our school-wide I LOVE TO LEARN night. This night will be a combination of reading, math and science activities. Join us from 5:00-6:30p with your whole family.
I am very proud of all the work our Whirlwinds have been putting into their learning. We will get to celebrate all of the learning on November 30, our last day of trimester 1. Some questions that adults at home can ask their student might be, "What was the most interesting thing you learned today?" or "What subject was your favorite today?" I am so proud of their hard work and learning each and every day.
Sincerely,
Chris Forrest
I love to learn night

Dear Parents -
Our school is participating in a creative fundraiser with Art to Remember that allows you to purchase keepsake products customized with your child’s art.
Make sure to check out your child's artwork on their Art to Remember flier that went home - this has the code you can enter to find your student. If you missed the flier you can go to www.ArtToRemember.com and click on 'Search for my art', enter 'Wilson Elementary, Anoka Minnesota' , 'Search schools' , and then click on the arrow by Wilson Elementary. You will then enter your students' name to find their artwork.
All orders need to be placed online by Monday, November 13th - no paper orders accepted. Please reach out to Katie.Johnston@ahschools.us if you have any questions.

Parenting education and family resources
Anoka-Hennepin offers parenting classes and resources for families. Supporting Wilson as our Parent Educator is Nichol Michels. Each month, Nichol will offer resources for parents in her monthly newsletter.
We know that kids learn concepts and skills best when they are constantly practicing them at school and at home. The hard thing is, kids all learn differently. By knowing your child's learning style, you can better support your child's learning. This doesn't just include academics. It works for limiting setting, chores and so much more! Here is this month's Parent Press on Learning Styles.
For additional information and resources please visit our district website.
