Racial Harmony Day 2022
Adding on to the experiences the children had in school, Children's Wishing Well took the chance to celebrate Racial Harmony Day to reinforce the importance of treating everyone around us with respect so as to maintain a happy and cohesive environment.
we shared with them about the various ethnic food and games, letting them experience making a Gimbap, paper lantern and Batik painting! We also had a henna station for them to get a small design.
Check out some of the pictures below.
MORE TIPS TO HELP YOU CONNECT WITH YOUR LITTLE ONES
Children are little humans with big emotions. Understanding and managing emotions is important for their development and wellbeing.
Being in school for many hours a day can create pent-up emotions. Hence, talk to your child often so that they can unload, process and better understand why they are feeling this way. Children will be more likely to open up to us if we open up to them, too. Start a casual conversation with your child by telling them how your day went. Getting as specific about the details as possible will help. You can tell them simple things like you forgot your coffee or your favourite pen broke.
We hope these tips will help you. Head on over to our social media (@childrenswishingwell) and follow us for more.
Be our star advocate
Apart from following us on social media, do also consider joining our Race For The Stars 2022 event where we look forward to hearing your thoughts and responses on poverty and inequality in Singapore through our reflection questions. The fight to end inequality is a long and hard one, but the first step lies in raising awareness and sparking conversations.
