Local Scholarships for Class of 2020
DIRECTIONS: Class of 2020 Digital Submission for Local Scholarships
There are three ways you may electronically submit your local scholarship application(s) to your counselor:
Share as Google docs with your guidance counselor selecting “SHARE” and typing in counselor’s email address.
Download your completed scholarship document(s) and then attach them in an email to your guidance counselor.
Print and scan a copy of your scholarship document(s) to your guidance counselor’s email.

BPLA/Cultivate: Please send to the counselor of your “home school” in Infinite Campus
If the specific scholarship application indicates completed applications are to be mailed to sponsor/donor, the student is responsible for mailing the completed application. Do not submit these to your counselor.

Kentucky State 1890 Scholarship
The purpose of the 1890 Scholarships Program is to provide scholarships to support recruiting, engaging, retaining, mentoring, and training of undergraduate students at the 1890 land-grant institutions, resulting in baccalaureate degrees in the food and agricultural sciences and related fields. The scholarships are intended to encourage outstanding students at 1890 institutions to pursue and complete baccalaureate degrees in the food and agricultural sciences and related fields that would lead to a highly skilled food and agricultural systems workforce.
Beginning Fall 2020, Kentucky State University (KSU) will award these scholarships to individuals who:
- Have been accepted for admission to KSU;
- Will enroll at KSU no later than one year after the date of acceptance; and
- Intend to pursue a career in the food and agricultural sciences, including a career in agribusiness, energy and renewable fuels, or financial management.
BCTC Aspire Scholarship
Inspiring to Reach Excellence (ASPIRE) provides African American students with appropriate programs and services while demonstrating understanding and appreciation of diverse background and academic goals.
Programs & services will be directed to African American students to assist in acquiring Associates of Arts/Science degree, transfer to a 4-year institution, career exploration, growth through cultural enrichment and to become lifelong learners.

o One Letter of Recommendation from a School Official
o Official High School Transcript
o An original statement that is at least one typed page in length on the following topic: Discuss the value and importance in your life of continuing your education and how it relates to your choosing Bluegrass Community & Technical College
