Henry David Thoreau was many things, but is most commonly identified as the author of the books Walden Pond and Civil Disobedience. Thoreau lived at Walden for two years to "live deep and suck out all the marrow of life." Thoreau dedicated his life to exploring nature and was an expert on wildlife and and experienced botanist.
How Does He Fit into Environmental Science?
In Chapter 24 Section 4, the book discusses the major roles of environmental groups. Henry David Thoreau is often considered the father of the environmentalist movement due to his love of nature and his efforts to conserve it.
