Congratulations, Ms. Emminger!
Where is SW Spartie?
You've got a friend in Spartie.
Spartie cheered the Lady Spartans volleyball team on to victory over the Lancers.
Spartie tried to help mow this week. Unfortunately, his arms are a little too short.

2019 SWHS Yearbooks Have Arrived!
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a free book gifting program that mails high-quality books to children from birth until their 5th birthday regardless of their family’s income. “The single most significant factor influencing a child’s early educational success is an introduction to books and being read to at home prior to beginning school,” states the National Commission on Reading.
Financial Donations made through the Blue River Community Foundation have allowed this wonderful program to be offered in our community! Each month, registered children who live in Southwestern’s school district will receive an age appropriate book in the mail, addressed to them, at no cost to the family. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has partnered with the American Printing House for the Blind, Inc. to make many wonderful books in the program available in braille and audio format for children who are blind or visually impaired in order for all children to benefit from these wonderful books.
Interested in registering your child?
To register your child, please complete the form below and send it to Southwestern Elementary School in an envelope addressed: Imagination Library Registration Form, C/O Joanna Yeend. If you have any questions regarding Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, please contact Joanna Yeend at Joanna.yeend@gmail.com.
School Counselor Corner
Dear Juniors, Seniors, and Parents:
The attached letter will be posted tomorrow, but I wanted to touch base with all of you via email as well to get the event and date on your radar. You are welcome to print and send in the RSVP as soon as you wish or wait for the posted letter, which includes an RSVP form.
For families that attended last year, it is essentially the same presentation by all participants, but any updates or changes to the FAFSA or the scholarship process will be reviewed. If you wish to join us for only one section, we will hold as closely as possible to the times listed in the letter.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Best regards,
Frau Hottell

You and your child can easily report tips on bullying, harassment, drugs, vandalism, or any safety issue you're concerned about through SafeSchools Alert. Every tip SafeSchools Alert receives about our district is immediately logged in the system and our administration is notified so that they can investigate and take appropriate action. And, tips may also be submitted anonymously if you prefer. Together, using SafeSchools Alert, we can make our district a safer place to work and learn! Thanks in advance for your support!

Our community is extremely proud of the many accomplishments and positive stories involving the students, teachers, staff and programs at Southwestern Consolidated Schools of Shelby County that we may not always get to hear.
