A Time to Be Thankful

With the arrival of November, I am always reminded that I have much to be thankful for. My oldest daughter is a senior at Arvada West High School. She was just accepted into UNC to study speech-language pathology. She wants to work in schools with students with speech delays. She will be a 4th generation educator in our family. We are proud of her accomplishments, and it has allowed me to reflect on my time as an educator.

I am grateful every day for the opportunities that working in schools has provided me. I get to work side by side with some of the most dedicated and selfless people in the world. I get to see young people push themselves harder and further than they ever thought possible, and see their face light up when they achieve success. I have been lucky enough to build lasting relationships with families who trust us to educate their children. I am so incredibly blessed in this life.

Attendance Line

If your child has to be absent from school, please call the Stott Attendance Line @ 303-982-2638 and report the absence. It is critical that we know all students are accounted for and safe every day. If you forget to call, we have to call all listed contacts and continue to call until we are able to get in contact with someone. The attendance line is automated; you may call at any time of day. Thank you for your help keeping all Stott students safe!

Look For the Good

For the second year in a row, we will be challenging our students to "Look for the Good" for the two weeks leading up to Thanksgiving break. This is a two-week campaign to help our students notice the things around them that they have to be grateful for. We will create a gratitude wall and encourage students to tell each other why they matter. Ask your students to talk to you about this starting Nov. 11.
