EJMHS Attendance Policy
The attendance policy for EJMHS has changed a bit from last year. Once a student is more than 10 minutes late for their class they are considered absent. Regardless of the type of absence, students are allowed 9 absences in any given class prior to them possibly losing credit in that class. At the 10th absence mark, students will need to complete make-up sessions for every absence thereafter and earn a passing grade (D-) on their final exam in order to gain their credit back. If a student has medically-related extenuating circumstances they may ask for an appeal of their excessive absences. Students will not be penalized for class field trips, sporting events, guidance counselor appointments, class meetings or other school functions.
To report a student's absence, please call the attendance line, which is available 24/7, at 231-536-2274.
