May 6, 2022
The first week of May and the weather has been just as we expected "It MAY be warm", "It MAY be cold", "iI MAY be sunny", "It MAY be rainy".
Today we had a BMX Stunt group come to the school and perform during part of our student's advisory period. This was absolutely spectacular! Ask your kiddos about it.
Next Wednesday, May 11, is our Math in May Night, 6:00 - 7:30 pm. We will have lots of fun math games for families to play, drawings to enter and FREE dinner! See below for more information.
Please keep up on your emails and social media if possible as these are the first methods of communication with parents.
Have a terrific weekend!
Math in May Family Night
We will serve FREE dinner to all who attend! Dinner includes, orange chicken, rice, stir fried vegetables, fortune cookie and juice!!!
Families will have multiple stations to visit to play math games - tables with information regarding the math curriculum used at Bridge and resources for parents - and an estimation station in the foyer for a chance to win prizes by guessing how many items are in a jar. Each time a student visits a station and completes an activity they will earn a ticket for a prize drawing. Parents and guardians who attend will also receive tickets for an adult prize drawing.

How Can I Help My Kiddo This Summer?
Breakfast & Lunch Next School Year
Dinner, which students receive when attending BASE, our after school program, will still be FREE for students.
Our school nurse has been completing these vision screenings. If there is a suspected "issue" with your child's long distance vision, you will receive an email from our school nurse, Vicki Ross.
All library books are due back by May 13th. If parents have questions regarding what book their child has, they can email Mrs. Langhaim Kaylie@BridgeCharter.org or students can check in with the librarian to determine which books are still checked out.
Testing has Started
We are in the final stretch of the school year with no more breaks until Monday, May 30, for Memorial Day.
End of year testing started on Monday and will continue for the next couple of weeks. End of year testing includes ESGI and KEEP (kindergarten), Imagine Learning Reading and Math (K-6), Galileo (1st - 6th), Acadience reading and math (K-6), and RISE (3rd - 6th). In between testing sessions students will continue with their regular rotations and instruction.
It is ESSENTIAL that your kids attend school, on time, well rested and well fed during testing.
The end of year progress report will be sent home the last week of June. We choose to use a progress report as it allows us to show the student's growth from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. Growth is more indicative of what a child has learned than a traditional grade of A, B or C, especially for students who are not grade level proficient in language arts or math.
Aspire will be updated at the end of the school year to include a grade based on the child's mastery of grade level content. More information about the Aspire data will be provided towards the end of the year.
