TMS Weekly Update 2020-2021

September 4th, 2020

Video of the week!

Hello everyone. The countdown is getting closer to one and we are getting the school ready. Teachers have been working with the technology this week and are looking forward to seeing all of you. As part of our education for the fall, we have made another video to help your children see what the school year will be like.

Communication from teams

On Tuesday September 8th, we will send out to parents/students introductions from the different grade levels. We will also have grade level schedules for parents to refer to that we will also post on our website afterwards. Thanks for your patience as we ready the school for students.

Winslow and Remote Student Chromebook and Supply Pickup

For students who will not physically be in school on September 14th, we have arranged a time for parents to pick up their chromebooks and students supplies from the school. From 10:00-1:00 September 10th parents will be able to come around to the back of TMS to pick up the necessary materials for their students to start school on the 14th.We will also be selling agenda books at this time for five dollars if you would like one. TPS Director of Technology Mr. Piper has his update below. ALL OTHER STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE ALL THEIR MATERIALS IN SCHOOL ON MONDAY SEPTEMBER 14TH.

Technology Update

As we prepare for distribution of Chromebooks to our middle school students, I would like to share some initial information. Each student in grades 6-8 will be issued a district-owned chromebook and charger. Next week, the Winslow and Remote students will be picking up their devices, while the Lakeview cohort will receive their devices on the first day of class (Monday, Sept. 14)

While we realize that many students may have a personal device that they prefer to use at home, it is our expectation that students will utilize the Chromebook for their schoolwork. As well, students should bring their fully charged Chromebook to school with them on any days they are attending. Students will not be able to leave their device at school and should take it home with them each day to charge.

By next week, we will be finalizing our support site for parents/students and there will be much more information that will hopefully answer all your questions and also be a link to direct you to the site.
