PEER TUTOR PROGRAM - SPRING 2023
Dear Pirate Families,
We are excited to be offering a Peer Tutoring elective option for our 7th & 8th grade students starting in the spring of 2023!
Interest & Information Meeting (mandatory for those who want to apply)
We will be holding a Peer Tutor Interest & Information meeting at 8:00 am on Tuesday, December 13th. This meeting is mandatory for students who are interested in applying for a peer tutor position starting in the spring of 2023.
Who Is This Opportunity Available To?
This elective will be offered to 7th & 8th grade students. Space is limited to 2-3 spots per period so not all who apply will be selected. Students will commit to an additional before school meeting one day per week.
What Do Peer Tutors Do?
Peer tutors can provide support, verbal prompting, clarification of classroom directions, implementation of teacher-directed accommodations and/or modifications, and any other assistance needed by the student they are supporting. For example, some students may need assistance only getting to and from class. Others may require support for the entire class or need assistance only in the beginning of class to understand the classroom directions given for that day. Students may benefit from assistance in note taking and reading the assigned materials. At times, students with disabilities may need someone to help them remain on task, stay focused, and assist them in being involved in classroom activities. The support the peer tutor provides is driven by the individual's need and their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
How Do I Apply?
Attend Peer Tutor Interest & Information meeting on Tuesday, December 13th @ 8:00am
Fill out Pre-Peer Tutor Survey
(You will receive this at the Interest & Information meeting)Leadership will review interest forms and reach out as soon as possible!

Each team will consist of 6-8 players. You can sign up as a team or individually. All players will be required to adhere to official dodgeball rules and exhibit PRIDE at all times.
