About the Institute

This year will again feature a Leadership Day, where school leaders will attend a special half-day event on April 5th, 2016. Registration for this event is in addition to your April 6th registration.

It is time to get ready again for the Iowa 1:1 Institute. Registration and call for sessions is open. Learn more about the Institute here.

The Iowa 1:1 Institute exists to:

  • Help 1:1 districts learn from each other about innovative teaching, learning, and administrative practices that are occurring in their districts;

  • Build excitement and ‘buzz’ around 1:1 laptop computing initiatives

  • Help others who are interested in 1:1 computing learn more about how to get started and be successful.

Early bird registration ($60/person) will last through February 29, 2016. Registration will be $75/person on March 1, 2016.

Leadership Day

Cost: $50/person (this is a separate cost from the Iowa 1:1 Institute on April 6th)

Who: School leaders — principals, teachers in leadership positions, technology staff members, superintendents, or anyone in a leadership role.

The guest speaker for 2016 will be Dr. Robert Dillon

About Dr. Robert Dillon

Dr. Robert Dillon also has served as an educational leader in a number of public schools throughout the Saint Louis area over the last twenty years. Dr. Dillon has a passion to change the educational landscape by building excellent engaging schools for all students. He looks for ways to ignite positive risk taking in teachers and students and release trapped wisdom into the system by growing networks of inspired educators. Dr. Dillon serves on the Leadership Team for Connected Learning, a Saint Louis based organization designed to reshape professional development to meet today’s needs. Dr. Dillon has had the opportunity to speak throughout the country at local, state, and national conferences as well as share his thoughts and ideas in a variety of publications. He is the author of two books on best practices in learning, Leading Connected Classrooms and Engage, Empower, Energize: Leading Tomorrow’s Schools Today.

Come learn from and with other high quality educators about teaching and learning in a 1:1 or technology rich environment.

Be a Presenter and Share

Our presentations (50 minutes each) have been nothing less than exceptional. Come share what you are doing in your classroom or district! If your presentation is accepted to be included in the 2016 Iowa 1:1 Institute, your registration fee will be waived. Deadline is March 1, 2016.
