Odysseus
Why Odysseus is a hero
Courageous
He shows courage when he is meeting the Cyclops. "Then I formed a courageous plan to steal up to him, draw my sharp sword, and feeling for the place where midriff supports the liver, stab him there" This shows courage to me because the Cyclops is something big enough to eat a man, and for him to be brave enough to kill him is pretty courageous.
Outgoing
He is outgoing because he made a big effort to save his men. "With this he drove away from him out of doors, and I loosed myself when the ram was a little way from the cave, then untied my men." He could have just ran out incase of the Cyclops' neighbor and not save his men, but he saved them all.
Smart
I think Odysseus is smart because he said his name was "Nobody" so when the Cyclops neighbor went to save Polythemus, he said "Nobody, my friends, is trying to kill me by violence or treachery" If he would have told the Cyclops his name is Odysseus, the neighbor would have came in to see what was bothering him.
