swcrk P.D. Day Jan. 20, 2014

Building a Culture of Learning

Martin Luther King was a True Leader

Swartz Creek Schools celebrated his dream by embracing diversity and working together to build a culture of learning where everyone has a chance to succeed, no matter our differences!

“If we are to achieve a richer culture, rich in contrasting values, we must recognize the whole gamut of human potentialities, and so weave a less arbitrary social fabric, one in which each diverse human gift will find a fitting place.”
Margaret Mead

Learn More About Our Keynote

GO Effect was started in 2010 by Aaron Donaghy with the help of high school and college students. It is a nonprofit specializing in youth leadership development. Through free and open leadership events, small group training sessions, after-school clubs and global partnerships, the GO Effect has created a leadership curriculum that combines opportunities for individual growth with a network of other youth and mentors.

“I’m hoping to blaze a trail so that my kids don’t go through the same type of education I did,” Aaron said. Donaghy said he created GO Effect to inspire leaders that they can achieve the impossible.

“Everyone is a leader — in some way, shape or form. “(Kids) doubt themselves. ... They have to believe they can do things in the world. They can, when given the opportunity, do unbelievable things.”
