Student Lunches
Regarding food other than regular school lunch or home lunches brought to school:
This is a reminder that we do not allow students to order lunches to be brought to the school by companies such as DoorDash. We also ask that parents to not drop off lunches for students from restaurants. Students who have food delivered to the school will not be allowed to bring the meal to the lunchroom. Students ordering the lunch will need to eat the lunch in the Assistant Principal's office.
These situations often lead to significant disruptions to the normal orderly process of seating and feeding several hundred students at a time within our normal lunch periods. Other students will often become disruptive and start grabbing for or asking for food that is not theirs.
While we enjoy celebrating and acknowledging the fun of student birthdays, we also do not allow the drop-off of celebration lunches or snacks for your child and friends for exactly the reasons stated above. Birthdays are fun and exciting to celebrate, unfortunately the excitement it creates in other students makes the experience less than a celebration. For perspective, please imagine the excitement of a birthday celebration in your home with 10-15 of your student's excited friends, multiplied by 400 students.
Thank you for your help and understanding.
Trimester 2 Conference Information
Trimester 2 conferences will be held on Thursday, Jan. 12, and Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 3:45 - 7:30 pm. All conferences need to be scheduled using the My Conference Time website. The window to begin scheduling conferences opens on Dec. 12. You will need to know the names of your student’s teachers.
Families will have the opportunity to select “in-person” or "virtual" conferences. Please indicate your preference using the MyConferenceTime program. Staff will again be conducting Parent/Teacher conferences from their classrooms. With this in mind, please try and schedule your conferences by grade level and/or building location. Scheduling conference appointments every other time slot will also create some travel time for your conference evenings.
If you have not scheduled your conference times before coming to conferences, please stop at the Main Office on conference night and we will help you schedule them. Please note that some teachers’ schedules fill up and may not be available if you wait to schedule your conference times the night of conferences. If you have any problems with the sign up, please call 763-506-5331 for help.
Winter weather reminders
Minnesota weather is shifting gears, and the Anoka-Hennepin School District has plans in place for when extreme winter weather arrives.
The safety of all students is the first priority when determining if schools should stay open in adverse weather. If a determination is made to close school due to extreme winter weather, the district will alert families in a variety of ways, including:
- Phone, text or email message from AHlert system (for Anoka-Hennepin parents/guardians only).
- District and school websites.
- District and school social media pages (e.g. Facebook, Instagram and Twitter).
- Media outlets including WCCO, KSTP, FOX 9, KARE 11, CCX Media, WCCO radio and Star Tribune newspaper.
Those responsible for activities scheduled in schools over the weekend will determine if adverse weather conditions necessitate a cancellation.

Providing family choice: Deadlines approaching to apply for Anoka-Hennepin’s four specialty and magnet schools at the high school level
Anoka-Hennepin offers four specialty and magnet schools at the high school level that are designed to provide families with additional choices at no cost. Students who live within the Anoka-Hennepin boundaries may apply to enroll at any of the specialty or magnet schools.
The specialty and magnet programs provide in-demand educational options such as the arts, science, technology, math, engineering and biomedical sciences (STEM/STEAM), as well as International Baccalaureate (IB).
The magnet schools are offered to students districtwide in partnership with the Northwest Suburban Integration School District (NWSISD) which provides transportation to those schools. The application window is open for the 2023-24 school year, closing Dec. 31, 2022. Students may also enroll at the specialty schools using an in-district transfer process without transportation. Applications are accepted between Dec. 1, 2022 and Jan. 15, 2023 for priority consideration.
The specialty and magnet schools are hosting information nights/open houses for families to learn more about the programs offered. The schools are also offering in-person tours upon request. View the full list of school offerings and open house or tour information.
