Principal's Message
Dear Campo Verde Families and Community,
Welcome back and I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving break. Thank you to everyone that supported our Key Club for the Winner Winner, Turkey Dinner and being able to provide 56 Gilbert families with a Thanksgiving meal. In addition, thank you to everyone that participated in the Gilbert Days Parade. We showed up and represented well. I was so proud of our entire Campo Family!
Next week we will be hosting our first ever, "Live Well Coyote" wellness week (there is a flyer below). Each day there will be activities to promote a healthy mindset. These skills are perfect and will help relieve the anxieties of final exams. Thank you to our Parent Site Council for donating items and to all of the Gilbert businesses and organizations that will be on campus working together to provide our students & faculty a week full of wellness strategies.
We have kicked off our Winter sports and would love to see more faces in the stands cheering on our students. Please refer to our calendar for upcoming campus events.
As always thank you for your continued support to our school and community!
Krista Cox, M. Ed.
Principal

Macy’s $1 million Make-A-Wish campaign
Help make a child’s wish come true! Please have your students write a letter to Santa, and then drop the letter in the red letterbox in the front office!
Macy’s will donate up to $1 million to Make-A-Wish through this campaign – and will donate twice that on National Believe Day, Friday, Dec. 7!
Every hour that Macy’s is open for business, more than three children are diagnosed with a critical illness. Each one of these kids needs a wish to give them strength and joy.
Did you know that some of our CVHS students are Wish Kids? Former freshman, Xavier Guerrero, had his wish granted in 2013. Senior and Wish Kid, Haley Delucia, and Xavier's mom, Ms. G., will be collecting letters written to Santa to support Macy's Believe Campaign. Join us in the courtyard next Wednesday, December 5 during lunch to write your letter to Santa. All letters collected will be taken to the National Believe Day event on Friday, December 7.

3D printing available
Our library now has a 3D printer for students to print from!
If a student has something he/she would like to print, he/she can talk to Mrs. Flaherty or our student apprentice, Kylie Dumas.
We will listen to what the student wants, find and create the file, present a quote for the materials and print the piece.
Here are some of the things our students have created already:

THE COYOTE PRIDE MARCHING BAND ENDS THE SEASON STRONG
Congratulations to the Coyote Marching Band for being recognized as one of the top-5 high school marching bands in the state by the Arizona Marching Band Association (AzMBA). This great accomplishment came after the band's outstanding performance during the state championships on November the 10th. A special performance was also rendered by the Coyote Saxophone Quartet consisting of David Hamlin, Dawson Zuniga, Max Bustamante, and Nolan Morse.
Thereafter, on Saturday, the 17th of November, the band proudly marched at the Gilbert Days Parade where hundreds of spectators watched with admiration. Undoubtedly, the season's success was due to the tremendous work and commitment invested by the members of the band and remarkable directors, Matt Kozacek, and Taylor Mitchell.
Stay connected and follow the Coyote Bands on Facebook!

Tax Credit Donation Request
Hi Coyote families!
Link Crew is responsible for so much on our campus and making sure that our freshmen feel included! We deliver freshmen birthdays -- none of OUR freshmen ever get forgotten -- we provide treats at all of our Link N’ Learns, and we host amazing Link Crew movie nights! However, to do this effectively, we need funds! We know that the end of the tax year is approaching and you may have extra tax credit money that you need to donate! We have the perfect way to spend it, you can donate the rest of your tax credit money to Link Crew! Your donated funds will benefit the entirety of the freshmen class in a variety of ways! We have included a scanned copy of the tax credit form with the LC code already on it! We can’t do this without you and appreciate all of the support! As a reminder, if filing individually, one can donate up to $200.00. If filing jointly, you can donate up to $400.00.

Just a Friendly Reminder as we enter cold and flu season......
Please make sure to check all medications in through the Health Office. Do not send any medications, including over the counter, with students. This also includes field trips. All medications must be in their original containers and brought in by an adult. Also make sure to check with the Health Office for students who carry their own Inhalers or Epi Pens if you have not already done so. Inhalers and Epi Pens should have the label from the pharmacy attached. This also includes field trips.
Please help to remind your child to “cover your cough” and to wash their hands frequently throughout the day.
Flu shots, it’s not too late! Many pharmacies and clinics offer them as well as doctor offices.
Good nutrition, exercise and plenty of rest helps keep us all healthy!
Please call for any questions or concerns and have a Happy and Healthy Holiday season!

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opened October 1st!
The FAFSA is the form you need to fill out to apply for federal and state grants, loans, and work-study funds to help you pay for your child's college tuition. The form asks questions about your family's financial status to determine the amount of aid you qualify for. You must submit a FAFSA to receive any federal aid.
You can submit your FAFSA between October 1 and June 30 each year. However, each state and college may have their own, earlier deadlines, so be sure to add those to your calendar.
