Thank you Sherwood Community for Recognizing our Staff!

Earlier this week, Sherwood School District staff were treated to a surprise from our community -- free items from the Sherwood Dutch Bros and the Hungry Hero Dessert Company! This event was made possible by community donations, in the amount of $2,610 dollars, and was an amazing way to show our staff members how much they matter. Everyone in our district is truly grateful for the support of our families and community members, and we are honored to continue to serve you and your students during this time.

Construction Update: Transformation Schools

With schools closed for the year and potential construction delays related to COVID-19, the District is working with our construction teams to move up our bond project timelines. This includes all of the work for our Transformations projects, originally scheduled to begin in June.

During the last two weeks of April, District staff worked very hard to pack up all schools, and this week we have moved everything out of all construction zones. Construction begins on Monday, May 11 at the current high school (to become Sherwood Middle School), Hopkins (to become the new District Office) and Laurel/Edy Ridge (to become Ridges Elementary). Construction continues to progress at SMS (to become Hawks View Elementary) and the new high school. You will begin to notice construction activity increasing throughout the District next week.

A huge thanks to all of our staff for their amazing work packing buildings and returning student items to families!

Construction Update: New High School

Construction at the new high school continues to progress despite challenges related to COVID-19, and will be complete this summer. In recent weeks, the main front parking lot has been completed, the west multi-use field has been completed, the main gym and surrounding running track are nearly complete, seat installation in the theater has begun, the classrooms are nearing completion, and the courtyard is almost complete. We are truly grateful to our construction crews for their hard work as we get closer to the completion of the new high school campus.
