Important Dates at LES!

A note from Mrs. Sampson-

Happy March 1!!!!! I am so excited for this next 6 weeks' push before Spring Break. These are the weeks when your students will make some of their biggest academic gains. As I walk around the school I see students who are excited to be at LES and teachers who are blown away with everything your students have learned and are learning. Keep up the great work families, and I hope to see you all at our book fair on March 9-17. There is a schedule below so you can come shop with your student on their library day.


Just a friendly reminder that school begins at 7:50. K-2 interventions begin at this time and end at 8:30. This is the time when students are met at their level. Thank you for being a partner with LES in you child's education.



February 27-March 3-Read Across America- Ms. Walker has some exciting activities planned for us.


March 2-Star Student


March 3-Spring Pics with siblings who are at LES.


March 6-2nd May Fest letter going home.


March 9-17-Book Fair -See the special pullout schedule and schedule for Book Fair.


March 10-SEL Day-The theme this year is "Uplifting Hearts, Connecting Minds" Students wear your yellow shirts and jeans.


March 10-End of 3rd 9 weeks.


March 13- Professional Development Day. Students do not come to school on this day.


March 16-Report Cards go home.


March 17-Happy St. Patrick's Day. Students and teachers can wear St. Patrick's shirts. Students must wear uniform bottoms.


March 23-Math and Literacy Night.


March 30-Star Student


March 20-31- PTO Coke Fundraiser. This is how our May Court is selected. The top sellers will have the honor of being a member of the May Fest Court.


March 31-K Graduation Pictures


April 3-May Fest Money Due


April 6- Half day before Spring Break-This will be when Coke Pick-Up is. It will begin at 11:30 after carpool


April 7-16-Spring Break


April 17-Students return from Spring Break

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) What it is and how we use it at LES!

At LES the first 10 minutes of the day is designated for our students' social and emotional health. We use the curriculum Character Strong. It is the time of the day when we talk about our feelings and that it is ok to have feelings. Below is a link for you to browse to learn more about Social Emotional Learning.
