Eagle News!
Everybody, Everyday, what ever it takes! October Edition
Principal's Message
The Eagles have been busy S.O.A.R.ing during the month of September! The teachers have had a focus on the new K-5 Benchmark Advance and 6th grade Savvas ELA curriculum. Teachers have been working hard to practice new routines and implement new strategies to strengthen students' comprehension. Math and Science work has also been an area of focus these nine weeks. Fifth graders experienced a week of hands-on learning called "Starbase", conducted by Patrick Airforce Base. Students were engaged for five days experimenting and enjoyed the week of learning! "Girls in Stem" took place last Saturday! Girls conducted hands-on fun with STEM activities and learned about STEM career opportunities.
Oak Park staff discuss S.O.A.R. expectations daily! Students have been earning PBIS reward points by following the S.O.A.R. expectations. To celebrate, Eagles paid 50 points October 1st to spend activity playing outdoor games, hanging with friends or playing basketball! It was such a great day to be an Eagle! Oak Park is planning another PBIS fun event on Friday, October 29th. Students can pay 100 PBIS points to dress up and travel around the school to collect candy from staff! We need families' support by donating candy for this fun event! Please send candy donations into the classroom teacher or the front office. Your donations are so appreciated!
The Eagles have also been working hard to open a PBIS store! In the store we have gently used clothing, snacks and gently used toys. We are currently collecting used toys for the store. Donations may be sent into your child's teacher or front office.
Thank you for supporting your child and our school!
