Important Notes & School Highlights
Science Fair: Students in grades K-6 are invited to participate in this year's Science Fair on Wednesday, March 18. Mrs. Lester has posted our 2020 Science Fair Packet to the website and she will be hosting an informational meeting for parents in our media center on Tuesday, February 25 at 6:30. For additional information, click below:
IREAD3/ILEARN: This spring, students in grades 3-6 will participate in annual state testing. Third graders will take the IREAD test on March 16-17. The ILEARN test window, for grades 3-6, will start April 20 and run through May 15. Students WILL NOT be testing through the entire window. We will work to do our testing the first couple of weeks, but use the additional time for any make up testing. Please try to avoid scheduling appointments or absences throughout these dates.
Round-Up: We will host Kingergarten and PreK Round-Up on March 11 at 6:30 PM and on March 12 at 9:00 AM. Children who turn 5 years old on or before August 1 are eligible to enroll in kindergarten. Children interested in our parent-funded preschool program must turn 4 years old on or before August 1. Parents/Guardians of eligible students are encouraged to attend one of our round-up sessions. Important enrollment and program information will be shared. Children are not expected to attend this meeting.
PTO News: PTO is looking for volunteers to help with Spring Picture Day (April 3) and Field Day (May 21). Please let them know of your interest through the Thorntown PTO facebook page or email them at thorntownpto@yahoo.com. Our next meeting is on Tuesday, March 31 at 3:00 PM. We want to thank our amazing PTO for the wonderful Rice Crispie Bar this week! We appreciate your kindness and support!

Join the fun at Thorntown Public Library
Harry Potter Party/Triwizard Tournament at Thorntown Public Library
Harry Potter fans of all ages are invited to attend this fun event. On Saturday, March 7, drop in anytime between 4:00 and 6:00 pm to be sorted into your house – which will it be? Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin? After the sorting have fun with activities that will include snacks, games, wand decorating, and our very own Triwizard Tournament. Please RSVP by owl or person to the library so we may estimate attendance. Dress code: Wizarding robes or Plainclothes (we don’t want the muggles to get suspicious!)
Winter Read & Bead Challenge
The Winter Read & Bead Challenge is going strong! Stop in the library to receive your reading log to begin collecting beads. The Challenge continues until March 23rd.

Western Boone Little League's Registration for the 2020 season is currently open. The Sign up Deadline is Sunday, March 1st. You may register in person on Saturday, February 29th at the Player Evaluations from 1pm - 3pm at Western Boone Jr/Sr High School. We are proud to announce the addition of our Community Challenger Team, an inclusive program for players ages 4 and up. The Challenger division is not effected by District Lines so everyone is welcome to join. This team is currently looking for Sponsors, Volunteers and Buddies!
