AHES Panther News

2021 Connection: November 19, 2021

Panther Families,

We had an amazing time of unity and celebration this week as a school site. On Tuesday our school celebrated our National Blue Ribbon School Award with a schoolwide Pep Rally. Canyon High School band, cheer, and song performed for our students. Our District's Superintendent, Board of Education, and other distinguished leaders joined in on the celebration to congratulate our students and staff. Please see below to see some of the great moments captured during the Pep Rally.

This week I also started STEM Lab Lessons with the Principal. Before we leave for winter break, I will have met with each class in the STEM Lab for their first STEM Lab Lesson with the principal. During these lessons, we will learn about and go through a Design Thinking cycle while infusing STEM skills and activities. I enjoyed the first three this week, and I look forward to the rest.

Parents, please help us inform our future budgets by taking the LCAP survey. You can find the survey at this link: https://ocde.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_e2tPTKGxbhB58YC?Survey=Parent

I hope that you and your family have a safe and memorable Fall Break.

Please see below for this week's updates. Have a great weekend!

AHES Parent Volunteer Updates

OUSD is now allowing a very limited number of parents onto campuses to support essential activities and learning experiences for our students. Parent volunteers must complete the HR paperwork and get cleared before coming onto campus.

Vaccinations are required to start the process and to be cleared as a volunteer to comply with CDPH guidance for volunteers.

For those parents interested in volunteering on campus please complete the proper form below:

Volunteer Forms Over 5 hours per week

Volunteer Forms Under 5 hours per week

Your child's teacher will reach out to parents when volunteer opportunities are available. We are currently allowed five parents on campus a day, so as we start this volunteer opportunities will be limited and we look forward OUSD expanding volunteer options as the school year progresses. Only cleared and pre-scheduled volunteers will be able to participate in volunteer opportunities.

Thank you!

Take the OUSD Parent LCAP Survey

Help us determine how effective OUSD is in achieving its Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) goals. This survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete. All information you provide is anonymous and individual responses will be kept confidential. It will only be viewed by authorized staff for use in the evaluation of the District’s progress in achieving our LCAP goals.
