I am excited to share with you that we have selected our new Literacy Specialist. Join me in welcoming Mrs. Sarah Flora. She will begin at LES officially on Wednesday, December 20.
During this transition period, Ms. Denise Goodson will be supporting us as our Literacy Specialist. She recently retired as Literacy Specialist at Valley Elementary. Ms. Goodson is an amazing teacher and has a wealth of knowledge to share with us. She has already been working hard to support our intervention team.
Both will be great additions to our LES family. Welcome Mrs. Flora and Ms. Goodson!

2017-18 Family Perceptual Survey on LES Culture and Climate
FCPS launched a survey on Monday, November 6 to gather your perceptions about your child's school. The survey will close Wednesday, December 6. Lewistown Elementary sent a letter home with each student this week explaining the survey. The letter includes a link for parents and guardians to access and complete an online survey. This link, https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HVZ2D6M, and the password 2001 are specific to Lewistown Elementary. A limited number of paper copies of the survey will also be available in the front office. Parent/guardian feedback is important to FCPS and the staff at LES as we continue our work building on strengths and striving to make improvements as a partner in your child’s education. Please contact our front office if you have any questions about the survey.
LES Yearbook
In an attempt to make things a bit easier, we have already opened up the online yearbook sales NOW - thru March 16, 2018! The yearbooks still won’t be delivered to the school or distributed to students until the end of May or the first of June; but, you will have more flexibility in when you pay for them.
Paper order forms have already been sent home with all students – so you can still pay by check or cash when you receive those order forms.
We’re hoping the open online option will help alleviate some financial burden on families by allowing parents to pay for the yearbook whenever it’s convenient for them.
To pay online using a credit card, go to www.ybpay.lifetouch.com and use school code: 11042518.
*This is not a fundraiser for the school. We only charge what the book costs to print.
