GMS enters April break after a fun filled week of activities and school spirit. Our week kicked off with Spirit Week, continued with a presentation to grade 7 with Rob Surette - the Inspirational Artist, courtesy of our CAPT, and concluded with our Student/Faculty Basketball Game. A Galvin tradition! The Student/Faculty game had not been played for the past two years. We would like to take this opportunity to recognize our positive student engagement this week during events. This was a great way to enter April break and return to our usual school spirit events and traditions here at the Galvin.

We hope the upcoming April break provides all of our students and families with opportunities to rest, rejuvenate, and have some fun.

Grade 7 students enjoyed a presentation from Rob Surette, the Inspirational Artist, who conveyed a message of citizenship and inspiration!

On Thursday our students enjoyed the return of the Student/Faculty basketball game. This event has been a GMS tradition for over 20 years, and it was a special day to have it return after a two year absence.

Every month, one of the many ways we recognize our outstanding students is through our PAWS awards. Each team of teachers nominates four students each month who exemplify our Core Values: Positive Attitude, Academic Excellence, Work Ethic, and Supportive of Others. Pictures of these students and the categories are displayed in our main lobby when you enter the Galvin. We are proud of our students and are always seeking ways to recognize their accomplishments.

Students enjoyed spirit days leading up to vacation. Below are some pictures from pajama day and tourist on vacation day.

Below is the GMS MCAS schedule. Students should have breakfast, be well rested on MCAS days and do their best to arrive on time to school.

The Grade 8 End of Year Activities Committee comprised of parents, teachers, and administration has been working hard the past few months planning an engaging and memorable end of year experience for our 8th grade students.

• Thursday, June 16th - Promotional Celebration at GMS (6/17 rain date)
• Friday, June 17th - Grade 8 Semi-Formal at CHS 7-9:30 pm

It is our students' responsibility to bring their charged Chromebook to school with them each day. We have a very limited number of loaners available and are using those to first support students who's Chromebooks aren't working. The Chromebook is an essential, daily, school supply. Please help your child come up with a process that allows them to have their device ready for school each day. Thank you.

The Galvin CAPT (Canton Association of Parents and Teachers) is an organization which promotes well-being and enrichment for the students at the Galvin Middle School and encourages a close relationship between home and school.
