What We're Learning
Math - Unit 4 - We have learned many different strategies to solves multiplication problems. Some of those strategies are: partial products, area model, and lattice. The students are encouraged to find a strategy that they understand and can use efficiently. It is very important that they know their multiplication facts. Please continue to practice math facts. The class will be taking the paper pencil unit 4 math test on Thursday, December 15th. The Study Island computer test will be given on Friday, December 16th. The study guide went home on Monday the 12th and will be gone over on Wednesday. We will begin Unit 5 after break.
Writing -Students have completed their brochures and are going to celebrate with a tour of the 4th grade Travel Agencies to plan their next adventure.
Science - Students are learning about magnetism. What metals are attracted to magnets and the concept of attract/repel.
Social Studies - Mini Society wrapped up today!! Students did a great job creating businesses and learned a lot about what sells well and what doesn't. We will wrap up the quarter with the basics of economics.
